OUR APPROACH
The focus of the network is to build a discourse on women's safety and highlight the issues of Dalit, Adivasi and other vulnerable women.
- Develop sustainable systems: The network has built psycho socio-legal support for women and children who are survivors of violence. Further, the network has supported survivor leaders to lead the process of change within their community.
- Collaboration with key stakeholders: With its presence in 9 states across India, the network members have developed collaborations with various stakeholders like the Women and Child Department, District Legal Service Aid authority, Panchayat members, Anganwadi & ASHA workers, district Health Department, Police, Protection Officers, Child Welfare Committees and others to bring about a holistic change.
- Advocacy for change: Through its members at the national and international level, the network is advocating for policy change and effective implementation of law in every corner of the country.
OUR PRESENCE
The Maitri Network currently works in 32 districts across 9 states of India namely Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jharkhakand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu with organizations that have strong grass root level mobilization and impact.
